Dear Parents and Players,

We got most of the games in at the Cowboy Cup. As far as I could tell from Tourney Machine, Secretariat was the team that did not play at all on Sunday due to their later start. I know you only got two games this weekend, but we will try to make it up to you.  

I believe everyone else at least got three games or finished their schedule.  I sent the tournament a note thanking them for all of their efforts on behalf of all of our teams.  I know that was not an easy tournament for them and they made a good call shortening games on Sunday so more teams could at least get 1 game on the day.  

Please read below on practice schedule, weather tonight, Lonestar Shootout and Autumn Gold.  

Weather tonight:

• 4:30 PM Practice:  We will make the call by 2:00 PM
• 5:45 PM Practices:  We will make the call by 3:00 PM
• 7:15 PM Practices:  We will make the call by 5:00 PM

Schedule Changes This Week and Reminders:

This week we have lost Wednesday evening in the schedule due to a football game which was scheduled for Jesuit after we made our IH schedule.  There is also a football game on Thursday and now with the time change and only 1 lighted field until the baseball field is finished with its turf renewal, its very tough to get practices in without lights.

I know that 2032 and 2033 only got 3 games in Cowboy Cup so Matt and I did some creative scheduling this morning to get you back on the schedule this week since you lost the Wednesday night practice.  

2032 we are adding you to the Tuesday schedule.  

2033 we are putting you all at Extreme Studio Performance on Tuesday.  Please fill out their waiver BY CLICKING HERE.  

High School... sorry but there is no where to add you to the schedule this week so hopefully we get practice in tonight.  

As a reminder, this was in a few emails at the beginning of the season:  

Makeup Practices:  As mentioned in Welcome to Tryouts Part 2, each team has built-in makeup practices in case of inclement weather. 

• High School teams 2028, 2027, 2026 have 3
• Youth teams 2029, 2030, 2031, 2032, 2033 have 2
• Ponies teams 2034, 2035, 2036 have 1

LIGHTNING DETECTOR AND EXTREME WEATHER

Jesuit has two built in lightning detectors (1) on the roof of their concession stand/bathroom bank on the south side of the main campus stadium which can be seen from the stadium and grass fields and (2) over the home side press box on the stadium field.   If the siren goes off simultaneously a light will begin to flash on top of the buildings which means there is lightning within 10 miles of the facility. The facility will be locked down for a minimum of 30 minutes.  Fans, players and coaches will be required to go to their cars.  No one is permitted to stay inside the athletic facility nor are they allowed to stand outside the gates for their own safety.  Any strike within 10 miles will reset the 30-minute clock on the lightening detectors.  The athletic facility is all clear when the siren blows 3 short blasts and the light stops flashing.   The gates to the facility will be unlocked by Jesuit personnel.  

Please be advised that games/practices may be called by the Referee’s, Jesuit Facility Manager OR Iron Horse  depending on how many minutes are left in the game OR the current radar status.   

EXTREME WEATHER:  In the event of extreme weather, the bathroom banks at south end of the stadium field and the north end of the grass field are to be used as shelter on the main campus.  If you are at the South Campus Practice Fields, Dove Fieldhouse will be used as emergency shelter.  

We have access at all times to an app that alerts us of any strikes within 30, 20 and 10 miles of the Jesuit campus and when we need to close the athletic facility as well as when we get the all clear.

Follow changes throughout the week.  We haven't seen the big email from this tournament yet and since it was bought by a new company I will wait for that email to send you more information on the tournament.  This tournament is in Lewisville in Railroad Park.

We do have to limit the Winter Indoor Box participants and it is a bit more popular than we anticipated so if you want in on spots register now by clicking on the registration link above.  The older group is getting full.
