I communicated offline yesterday with our 3 teams attending tournaments this weekend.  Good luck and safe travels.  

Coming out of our dead period with Jesuit today we only have one practice this week and that is tonight.  All of the times are back to originally scheduled since the heat has let up.  Hopefully no storms tonight but there is a 40% chance.  

We would love your input on reinstating Team Texas.  This email was sent to all Dallas, Austin and Houston 2030-2027 players prior to the Holiday weekend.  If you missed it I am sending it again below.

Team Texas 2023-2024 Outline

General Format:

1)    August/September Tryout for Team

2)    1 Summer Tournament, Maybe one Winter Event

3)    Mandatory Practice/Mini Camps the week prior to each tournament. Maybe 1 extra mini-camp during the year.

4)    Top Coaches from each region get to coach.

Grad Years:

2027, 2028, 2029, 2030 

Tryouts:

1)    Open to all registered Iron Horse players

2)    Create tryout registration to track who is singing up

3)    Each Director is responsible for recruiting their best players to attend.

4)    Held in a central location for all families: Waco, College Station etc.

5)    Program Directors choose teams.

6)    Look to bring in 1-2 college coaches as non-biased opinion

Practice:

1)    Host 2-3 practices over 2 days, 2-3 times per year

2)    Plan Team get-togethers in the evening

2)    Club Lacrosse Nationals, Dec 28-30, Orlando, FL

3)    Sandstorm, January 13-14, 2024 Palm Springs, CA

1)    SweetLax Summer Invitational, June 22-23, Delaware Turf Complex

2)    Naptown, June 24-26, 2024, Annapolis, MD

3)    Primetime Invitational, July 6-7th 2024, Windsor, CT

4)    The Big Time Shootout, July 6-7th, 2024, Middletown, NY

5)    PLC Summer, July 13-14, 2024, Boyds, MD

6)    NLF Club Championships, July 12-14, 2024, Lehigh University

Costs:  

        Costs are estimated because the tournament fee plays a big factor in setting them but they will probably be around $1,000.00 per event.  

Tryouts are listed below and are either August 5th-6th or August 13th (Makeup times released the Friday before the makeup date).

We do not have tryouts for our youngest players.  If you have a friend or neighbor that plays or are a 2035-2033 (Rising 1st-3rd) you can register for our Ponies program.  It's year round for 2034-2033 and its just fall for 2035.  The summer session registration will be open around spring break.  

We will have the complete fall schedule out by the end of July but not before.  If you would like to look at last falls schedule CLICK HERE NOW.  The fall schedule does not change from year to year too much.
